Steve Bryant is a contractual and commercial specialist and qualified Quantity Surveyor with over 39 years of experience of the Building, Civil Engineering, Rail, M&E, Development and Road Industries both Internationally and within the UK.

He has gained experience with major domestic and international contractors as a quantity surveyor and commercial manager.  He has managed large commercial, planning, project controls and quantity surveying teams on major assignments in the UK as well as working internationally with both consultancies and major UK and International Contractors.

Since 1985 he has specialised in providing commercial and contractual advice and team leadership on major and often problematic complex projects both in the UK and worldwide.  He has been responsible for the formulation and / or appraisal of complex claims through to negotiation and settlement, submissions to adjudication and expert assistance in arbitration and litigation on various forms of Contract including bespoke PPP contracts for rail and road.

He has undertaken development of commercial and contractual risk appraisals for international contractors on complex infrastructure projects as well as development of training programmes on the FIDIC form of contract currently being used by up to 5,000 worldwide staff of an international Japanese contractor.

He has worked extensively for contracting and employer organizations during the Design, Development and Engineering/Construction Feed phases through to Project Delivery and beyond.

He has also provided independent appraisal and valuation work for Contractors, Specialist Subcontractors, project funders and insurers in the assessment and management of risk in respect of commercial, contractual and programme delivery aspects.   

He has also been appointed as quantum expert disputes involving extension of time, appraisal of loss and expense and damages, prolongation, acceleration and the valuation of variation and change on building contracts and provided litigation support on various building, civil engineering disputes and Professional Indemnity claims.

He has carried out assignment management functions within the rail and infrastructure sectors, including management of direct and client staff and undertaken high level client interface functions.

Has considerable experience in working with many of the key  legal construction firms.
